Thoughts for a Tuesday. Hello everyone. First up, a special Blog 7 congratulations to Robin Kinoshita and Lisa-Lisa McIntyre. Lisa and Robin did an interview at a Bay Area radio station this morning to promote our upcoming
Loud Music Symposium 7 concert. Most notably, the interview did not turn into a international incident, unlike their appearance last year on the artist formerly known as the Doghouse Radio Show, RIP.
As the Renegades prepare for the 2006 season, I am working to finish my book about the last seven years of Renegades. Interestingly enough, everyone remembers that the 2003 Renegades stormed into Prelims at the DCA World Championships and beat all but three other DCA corps in the world.
However, very few people recall that the 2003 Renegades also walked onto the field at Blue Devils Family Day in June of 2003 with barely over 40-horns (including only 5 contras), numerous musical problems, and an overtime show that didn't yet even have an ending. What happened in the next few months following Blue Devils Family Day was nothing short of a miracle. It is very interesting to re-live these strange, unbelievable and sometimes little-known moments of the last few years as I finish the book. For the record, I predict that the 2006 Renegades will achieve the corps' highest placement ever at the DCA World Championships.
I spent part of today beginning to improve
drumlaw80.com, and reading through scripts, as we figure out the next film to produce. Rumiko has started to see news of the upcoming release of
Death Ride appearing in the Japanese press, which is really amazing to me.
When we started Death Ride, I was
green and naive in regards to the motion picture industry, but I figured it out on the fly, and had the time of my life. Like drum corps, all it took was one successful experience to get the bug, and I am now find myself doing everything in my power to diive into the next film as fast as possible. Since we actually sold the first film, getting even more funding for the next one does not apppear to be an issue, but finding a solid project (i.e., script) to take on is a time-consuming experience. Simply put, we cannot be wrong.
Annnnnyway, enough of my idiotic rambling. lol.
Tanks for checking into Blog 7. Tank you Berry Match.

iPod, here it is.
